What we collect
You can read every article on this site without giving us anything. We only hold personal data when you hand it to us: your name, email address and message when you use the contact form, and your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter.
Our server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and debugging. Those logs are deleted after 30 days.
Analytics
We measure traffic in aggregate: page views, referrers and rough country-level location. We do not build profiles of individual readers, do not run advertising trackers, and do not sell data to anyone.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address and the date you subscribed so we can send the weekly brief. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address from the list.
Cookies
The site sets cookies only where a feature needs them: a session cookie if you comment, and a preference cookie that remembers whether you have dismissed the subscribe prompt. There are no third-party advertising cookies.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you follow one, the destination site may set its own cookies to attribute the referral. That happens under their privacy policy, not ours.
Sharing and retention
We use third-party services for hosting and email delivery, and they process data on our behalf under their own terms. We keep contact form messages for two years so we can follow up on tips and corrections, then delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Write to privacy@acrosswp.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
