AcrossWP covers what is changing in WordPress and the ecosystem around it: core and Gutenberg, WooCommerce, BuddyBoss and BuddyPress, LearnDash, hosting and performance, and the plugin economy that connects them.
Who publishes this
This site is published by AcrossWP, a web development company founded in 2023 by Deepak Gupta in Mumbai, India. AcrossWP builds and customises WordPress plugins, WooCommerce stores, social platforms on BuddyBoss and BuddyPress, and LearnDash integrations.
That is also why this site exists. Most of what we write about, we hit first on client work: a deprecation that broke a checkout, a release note that omitted a behavioural change, a migration that went badly on a large store. Writing it down is cheaper than answering the same question forty times.
How we write
The answer comes first
Every article opens with the conclusion and the takeaways, before the reasoning. If you only read the first screen, you should still be able to act.
Claims carry sources
Release posts, changelogs, trac tickets and make.wordpress.org threads are linked at the end of each piece. Where we measured something ourselves, we say how many sites and over what period.
Readable by people and machines
Articles publish a structured summary, an FAQ block and Article schema, plus an llms.txt index. Assistants that quote us should quote us correctly.
Corrections stay visible
When we get something wrong we amend the article, date the change and leave a note at the foot of the page rather than editing silently.
How the site is funded
Some links to hosting, plugins and services are affiliate links, which means we earn a commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you. We only recommend tools we run on client sites, and a commission never buys a place in a review or a higher score.
Where a piece is sponsored it is labelled as sponsored at the top. Where we have a commercial relationship with a plugin we are writing about, that is stated in the first paragraph.
